What is the O-shot®?
The O-Shot®, or ‘Orgasm Shot’ is a pioneering new non-surgical technique, which offers a quick, safe and simple solution for a variety of concerns associated with female sexual dysfunction.
What does it entail?
The procedure involves drawing a small amount of blood from a patient’s arm, spinning it down in an FDA-approved centrifuge and separating out the platelets. This Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP is rich in growth factors and regenerative substances. After numbing the area with a topical cream, the PRP is then injected into an area near the clitoris and just inside the vagina to stimulate the growth of new cells in this area where they start working their magic.
Why would I consider the O-shot®?
Sex, sexual satisfaction and intimacy are a huge part of what makes us happy as individuals.
The Bad News: Unfortunately, many women are suffering in silence about low libido or lack of sexual desire. Female Sexual Dysfunction or FSD due to physical factors has been seen in up to 30-80% of women at some point in their lives! Certain health problems, medications such as antidepressants, blood pressure medications and antihistamines can lead to decreasing sexual desire and one’s body’s ability to experience orgasms.
Aging and lower estrogen levels after menopause may lead to changes in your genital tissues and sexual responsiveness. A decrease in estrogen leads to decreased blood flow to the pelvic tissues which can result in needing more time to build arousal and reach orgasm, as well as less genital sensation. The vaginal lining also becomes thinner and less elastic, particularly if you’re not sexually active or menopausal and not on estrogen. These factors can lead to painful intercourse (dyspareunia). Sexual desire also decreases when hormonal levels decrease. Hormone levels also shift after giving birth and during breastfeeding, which can lead to vaginal dryness and can affect your desire to have sex.
As you can see, often there are reasons that haven’t been addressed. Having difficulty achieving orgasms, difficulty achieving vaginal orgasms without clitoral stimulation during sex, pain with intercourse, vaginal dryness, urinary incontinence all can be contributing factors.
The Good News: You found me 😊At first, this subject can be difficult to share and discuss but trust me, once this is addressed and you are feeling amazing sexual satisfaction, you will think it was worth it and want to share it with those you care about.
Women who receive the O-Shot® experience more (and better) orgasms, increased libido and lubrication, and some experience vaginal tightening. Medical issues like painful intercourse (dyspareunia), Lichen Sclerosis, bladder leakage and urinary urgency are also improved with as little as one injection. Many patients report almost immediate results, but it may take a few weeks to a few months to optimize your response. The O-Shot® is also a wonderful option for women suffering from urinary incontinence but are not interested in bladder sling surgery which has down time and risk or costly medications with side effects.
Is it painful?
No. A numbing cream is used and a very tiny needle. Most patients may feel mild pressure during the injection and may notice some soreness in the area for around a week after the procedure. This is very normal. How long is the recovery? You can get back to your normal daily life immediately. Just no sexual activity that night. When will I notice a difference? How long will the result last? Will I need another treatment? Some experience the effects immediately and others it takes 2-4 weeks. Full effect should be seen at 90 days. The results can last from 1 year to several. Many experience great success with just one injection. Some may benefit from 2-3 treatments as individual results vary and what is good for one person may differ from another.
